There are two new Liga Privadas coming.

Drew Estate will release Liga Privada 10 Aniversario and Liga Privada H99, the first two new Liga Privada lines since 2010.

The company is expected to show off the cigars later this week at the 2018 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas. Advertisements from Drew Estate have shown a letter from Jonathan Drew, the company’s president and co-founder, mentioning the new cigars.

Aniversario appears to use a Connecticut criollo wrapper, while H99 will use Connecticut corojo. A representative from Drew Estate declined to comment on the cigars.

Drew’s letter reads:

10 years ago, Drew Estate created ‘Liga Privada,’ the hearty Broadleaf bully that changed the cigar world forever… but it did not come easy.

The hard work began deep in the Connecticut River Valley, where no expense was spared in our hunt for the dense, lush leaf required to make our dream cigar a reality. Highly coveted, this tobacco is historically treated as a reward by growers because of its absolutely stunning taste, aroma and appearance, reinforcing the bond of partnerships between farmer and manufacturer.

“Liga” came to life at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, our home in Estelí, Nicaragua, where the proud men & women who work wonders on the factory floor every single day crafted a cigar that is worth of unmatched celebration.

Today, our passion for pushing boundaries and collaborating with the finest growers in the Connecticut River Valley have produced the next chapters to this legacy. Introducing Liga Privada 10 – Aniversario, a full throttle beast of peppery spice that is swathed in a Roubst Criollo, and Liga Privada H99 – Connecticut Corojo, which maintains Liga’s core tenant of being full bodied, smooth & satisfying. This Liga is all at once bold, balanced and beautiful to behold.

Liga Privada 10 Aniversario first appeared in 2016, a cigar that was placed onto the market at select stores to comply with upcoming FDA rules.

Drew Estate has made it clear it will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Liga Privada this year. That timing appears to be the 10th anniversary of the full release of Liga Privada No. 9 with multiple vitolas. Liga Privada No. 9 emerged in 2006 and was first sold nationally, in a single size, in 2007.
