Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève Debuting at PCA 2023

Last year, Cavalier Genève showed a new side of itself with a brand called Inner Circle. The idea behind that brand was to honor those people who helped build Cavalier but it also showed off a new branding aesthetic for the company, notably eschewing the diamond gold foil that has been placed on the wrapper of most of the company’s cigars.

At next month’s 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Cavalier Genève will show off the second line that is part of Inner Circle: Domaine Rouge. Ths line pays tribute to the late Pascal Decoppet, father of Sébastien Decoppet, the company’s founder. Blend-wise, it uses a habano viso wrapper from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras over a Connecticut-seed binder grown in Honduras and fillers that include habano tobacco from the Jamastran Valley and Jalapa, Nicaragua as well as tobacco from Paraguay. Domaine Rouge will be made at the company’s Fábrica Centroamericana de Tabaco S.A. factory in Honduras.

It will be offered in four sizes:

• Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève Petit Robusto (4 1/2 x 50) — $14.10 (Box of 24, $338.40)
• Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève Robusto Grande (5 x 54) — $14.80 (Box of 24, $355.20)
• Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève Toro (6 x 52) — $15.10 (Box of 24, $362.40)
• Domaine Rouge by Cavalier Genève Figurado (6 x 52) — $15.40 (Box of 24, $369.60)

“Like the Inner Circle, which was created as an ongoing tribute to the people that support Cavalier Genève Cigars – some from day one, some as of yesterday, today and for some tomorrow, making every step of the way possible, creating jobs for so many, giving the brand a life of its own, the factory and all its people – the new Domaine Rouge is a legacy and remembrance of my father who I’m sure would have been as grateful as we all are to see Cavalier come so far,” said Decoppet in a press release.

The packaging also uses branding and imagery that evokes wineries, something that Decoppet said brought him and his father together.

Domaine Rouge will debut at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show in Las Vegas next month. It is expected to begin shipping to stores immediately following the trade show, which takes place July 8-11.
