At next month’s 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Dissident Cigars will release a new limited edition called ReVolt.
The cigar is a 5 x 50 robusto with a blend that features a barber pole wrapper, with Ecuadorian corojo and Ecuadorian maduro leaves making up the design. Underneath that is an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan filler. The company calls it a “medium bold” profile.
The MSRP is set at $14 per cigar and $280 for a box of 20 cigars. It is produced at Fábrica Oveja Negra in Estelí, Nicaragua, and while it is a limited edition, the company has not disclosed how many cigars are being made.
“The ReVolt is a continuation of the promise we made to bring individuality, art and punk to the world of cigars,” said Cynn Coburn, owner and blender of Dissident Cigars, via a press release. “Dissident is about telling a story. A story of hope and encouragement to be uniquely you and to stand up in the face of adversity. Anyone who has read history knows that progress is made through rebellion. The ReVolt encompasses what Dissident stands for. Being a true punk. Straying from the herd. The ReVolt is another page in the book of Dissident and its ever-continuing writings.”
Coburn said ReVolt is currently scheduled to begin shipping to retailers in late July or early August.
Update — Shortly after this article was published, Cynn Coburn updated the tentative shipping date for the cigars. The original version of this article indicated that the cigars would ship after the PCA Convention & Trade Show but did not include a specific date or timeframe.
