In 2020, Davidoff released the Winston Churchill The Late Hour Petit Panetela as a limited edition for international markets. Now, that same cigar is back for a second release, this time as a global launch—meaning American stores will get the cigar—and as a regular production. In addition, the company has two new Winston Churchill-branded humidors.

The Davidoff Winston Churchill The Late Hour Petit Panetela remains a 4 x 38 petite corona vitola. Like the rest of the sizes in the line, the blend uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper, a Mexican San Andrés negro binder and fillers that include Dominican olor, piloto and San Vicente, along with Sumatran tobacco and leaves from the Condega and Estelí regions of Nicaragua, with the Condega leaves aged in Scotch whisky casks. Unlike the rest of the sizes in the line, this is a mixed filler cigar, meaning it uses a whole leaf wrapper and binder like a normal premium cigar, but the filler is made up of tobacco from the leftover cuts of tobacco.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $10.10 and they are sold in tins of four cigars.

“I am very pleased that we can offer this special format to our aficionados permanently now,” said Edward Simon, chief marketing officer of Oettinger Davidoff, in a press release. “We launch the Petit Panetela to give appreciators of the «The Late Hour Series» blend the opportunity for a shorter enjoyment with the same complexity in taste as the long-fillers Robusto, Toro and Churchill of the same line.”

There are also two new Winston Churchill humidors. The smaller humidor, the Davidoff Winston Churchill The Raconteur Primos Humidor, is designed to hold 25-35 cigars. It measures 10.98 inches x 9.41 x 4.25 and use an oak exterior. The inside is made of anigre wood and contains one Davidoff Slim Regulator, a humidifier along with four dividers.

The lid of the humidor features the Winston Churchill silhouette logo that Davidoff uses for these lines as well as text from his book, “My Early Life.”

Each Primos humidor has an MSRP of $2,600.

There’s also the larger Davidoff Winston Churchill The Raconteur Ambassador Humidor. It measures 15.1 inches x 9.45 x 5.63, rated to hold 70-80 cigars. Its exterior is made of black tulipwood, while the interior uses anigre wood. The Ambassador humidor comes with one Davidoff Slim regulator and a removable tray.

The MSRP is set at $3,400. Both humidors are made in France and there are just 40 of each humidor being offered to stores in the U.S.

Davidoff of Geneva USA expects these items to begin shipping on Jan. 18, 2024.
