A new line from Dapper Cigar Co. has surfaced at Small Batch Cigar Co., who is getting the exclusive release of the Siempre Rosado for the next few months.

The cigar is an extension to the company’s Siempre Sun Grown line, which was released in 2018.

This new blend features an Ecuadorian habano rosado wrapper, a Nicaraguan cofradia binder from Jalapa, and a filler of that same tobacco, along with another undisclosed Nicaraguan varietal, as well as Connecticut broadleaf and another undisclosed U.S.-grown tobacco. Ian Reith, the founder and owner of Dapper Cigar Company, developed the blend with Raul Disla of NACSA, the factory where the cigar is being produced.

“To do this collaboration justice, we knew from the beginning that we’d have to create something bigger and bolder than ever before,” said Reith. “We needed a full-bodied, flavorful experience that fires on all cylinders whether it’s your first cigar of the evening or your fourth cigar while packing orders.”

The line is debuting in a 5 5/8 x 46 corona, which is currently available in a limited number five-packs priced at $56.63. Dapper will be shipping the store 20-count boxes next week.

“It’s flattering to make a cigar for the guys that recognized and supported your brand from the beginning. And I took that to heart, wanting to honor them in return by creating a blend that’s worthy of their exclusive catalog while inspiring each of our palates. In the end, I feel that this cigar is one of the best that I’ve ever blended personally,” said Reith.

The Siempre Rosado will get a full release at TPE 2021, scheduled for late January. At that point, it will add three more sizes:

  • Siempre Rosado Robusto (5 x 50)
  • Siempre Rosado Toro (6 1/8 x 52)
  • Siempre Rosado Churchill (7 x 48)

Those sizes will come in 20-count boxes as well and will be available to all retailers, while the corona is slated to remain an exclusive to Small Batch Cigar. Pricing is still being finalized, but it expected to be close to the existing Siempre line, which should have it in the $12-13 range.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
