On Thursday, the Dallas Park and Recreation board is scheduled to vote on a potential smoking ban.

If passed, the ban would apply to all city-owned parks, golf courses and Fair Park, home of the Texas State Fair. According to The Dallas Morning News, there is likely to be discussion about exemptions, particularly for special events and concerts at places like Fair Park.

If approved, the proposed law will still have to be approved by the Dallas City Council.

Dallas has a population around 1.3 million people.
