While the Dallas Parks and Recreation Board recommended a parks smoking ban with an exemption, the Dallas City Council is expected to introduce a smoking ban without exemptions.

According to a report from NBC 5, the council will vote soon on a ban that would prohibit smoking at all city-owned parks in Dallas, including all golf courses, with no exemptions for private events like the State Fair of Texas.

Golf courses and a public shooting range were exempted in the non-binding recommendation from the Dallas Parks and Recreation Board that came in June. Now, those are expected to be not included in the proposal from the Dallas City Council, which if passed would become law.
