The Daily Wire, Michael Knowles Launch Mayflower Cigars

The Daily Wire, a right-wing media company, now has its own cigar brand.

It’s called Mayflower Cigars, and it’s being spearheaded by Michael Knowles, who hosts The Michael Knowles Show for The Daily Wire. The cigars are being made by Oliva and sold direct to consumer through mayflowercigars.com, with logistics handled by Brandshopper, the parent company of Cigarpage.

There are two different blends: Dawn and Dusk. Dawn uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over a Cameroon binder and fillers from Nicaragua.

Dusk uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Sumatran binder and fillers from Nicaragua.

“Cigars are among the few things I’ve loved longer than my wife, whom I first kissed at age 16,” said Knowles on the company’s website. “I have never much cared for cigarettes, pipes, or the Devil’s lettuce, but from the moment a family friend gave me my first cigar—a machine-made Cuban—I fell in love with the whole affair: the flavor, of course, but also the ritual and, most of all, the culture.”

Knowles said he chose Mayflower Cigars as the name because four of his ancestors came over on the ship.

The Daily Wire has launched other consumer products such as Jeremy’s Razors and Jeremy’s Chocolate, both of which have been marketed as responses to established brands (Harry’s Razors and Hershey) led by “woke CEOs.” Mayflower Cigars does not appear to be in response to a cigar brand.

Oliva and Brandshopper have a connection as the Vandermarliere family, which owns Oliva, invested in Brandshopper in 2021.
