At last week’s 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, Curivari unveiled the new Buenaventura Favoritos.

There are three different wrapper options, each offered in two sizes, albeit not the same two vitolas for all blends. The Buenaventura Favoritos Connecticut uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, the Buenaventura Favoritos Natural uses a wrapper from Jalapa, Nicaragua and the Buenaventura Favoritos Maduro uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper.

All three use a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers, though the company says the fillers are tweaked depending on the blend. Curivari’s cigars are made at Tabacalera de Nicaragua S.A.

There are a total of six different, all of which are scheduled to begin shipping in June:

  • Buenaventura Favoritos 50 Connecticut (5 x 50) – $4.90 (Box of 20, $98)
  • Buenaventura Favoritos 54 Connecticut (6 x 54) – $5.60 (Box of 20, $112)
  • Buenaventura Favoritos 56 Natural (5 x 56) – $5.40 (Box of 20, $108)
  • Buenaventura Favoritos 60 Natural (6 x 60) – $5.90 (Box of 20, $118)
  • Buenaventura Favoritos 56 Maduro (5 x 56) – $5.40 (Box of 20, $108)
  • Buenaventura Favoritos 60 Maduro (6 x 60) – $5.90 (Box of 20, $118)

For reference, the Connecticut uses yellow packaging, the Natural uses red packaging and the Maduro uses blue packaging.

Curivari says that the company began working on these blends in 2018.
