Cubanacan Cigars is celebrating its 10th year of doing business in the United States the best way it knows how: by releasing a new vitola.
The cigar company has announced that it will be adding a 6 x 50 toro vitola to the three different blends that make up the Mederos brand: Mederos Connecticut, Mederos Habano and Mederos Oscuro. This will be the first new extension for any of the three lines since the introduction of the Mederos Maduro Lonsdale in early 2014.
Internally, the company says each of the three Mederos lines incorporate wrappers and binders from Ecuador as well as filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and are rolled at Tabacalera Cubanacan Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
According to a press release, the new toro vitola will be a regular production release.

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
