Yesterday, the 2022 edition of Las Calaveras began shipping to stores.
The Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2022 is a Nicaraguan puro that uses a corojo 99 wrapper. This is the first time in the nine-year history of Las Calaveras that the cigar is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos. Like prior releases, it is rolled at My Father Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
As has typically been the case, there are four vitolas for 2022, three of which are sold in 24-count boxes and a fourth size that is offered exclusively in a sampler that contains one of each of the sizes:
- Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2022 LC46 (5 3/4 x 46) — 1,500 Boxes of 24 Cigars + 2,500 Samplers of 1 Cigar (38,500 Total Cigars)

Las Calaveras is an annual limited edition for the company that pays tribute to those close to the company’s personnel who have lost their lives. Each year has been a different blend, offered in either three or four sizes. The name comes from La Calavera Catrina, a zinc etching by José Guadalupe Posada. This year’s release is dedicated to four people who have passed, each of whom is identified by their initials included on the band.
