CroMagnon PA Mandible Mastodon Arrives

The first batch of the CroMagnon Mandible Mastodon with the new-for-2024 CroMagnon blend is hitting stores.

Last week, RoMa Craft Tobac began shipping the new version of the CroMagnon Mandible Mastodon. Earlier this year, RoMa Craft Tobac introduced a new blend for CroMagnon: a Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra hybrid binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The change was made due to a lack of availability of usable Connecticut broadleaf, the wrapper that the company previously used for CroMagnon.

After a brief soft launch of the Timeline size, the company focused on getting the seven core sizes to market but indicated that many of the previously-released limited production vitolas would be released with the new blend.

Mastodon is one of them, a box-pressed version of the Mandible size. Both cigars measure 4 1/2 x 60, but the round version is a regular production vitola, while the box-pressed Mastodon is a limited production item that first debuted in 2018. For these cigars, RoMa Craft Tobac typically releases a batch once per year, though many of these vitolas are also available at select events. An easy way to tell the new version from the old is the font color on the bands: the old bands had black font, while the new cigars have white font on the bands.

The MSRP is set at $11.05 per cigar and Mandible Mastodon is sold in boxes of 24.
