The Cohiba Serie M is returning for its fourth installment next month, and getting a new blend in the process.

This year’s version is called the Cohiba Serie M Reserva Roja, and it’s a 6 1/2 x 54 toro extra that General Cigar Co. refers to as a Magnum. The blend keeps the same Nicaragua corojo wrapper that the line has used since it debuted in 2021, but this year’s version puts a Nicaraguan corojo binder underneath that wrapper, while the filler uses tobacco from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

A press release from General Cigar Co. described the cigar as having a medium-plus profile highlighted by cocoa, cedar, leather, and nuanced spice.

The cigar is once again being produced by El Titan de Bronze in Miami and will come with an MSRP of $29.99 per cigar and $299.90 for a box of 10 cigars. Production is limited to 2,500 boxes that will begin shipping to stores on April 1. This will be the smallest release since the line launched, as the previous three installments have all had at least 40,000 cigars produced.

“In collaboration with Sandy Cobas, we’re proud to build on the narrative of Cohiba Serie M by releasing a one-of-a-kind cigar that is equal parts timeless and unique,” said Sean Williams, brand ambassador for Cohiba, via a press release. “With Cohiba Serie M Reserva Roja, the collective expertise of El Titan de Bronze and the mastery of our Cohiba team comes to life in an artisanal blend that was created to deliver a memorable smoking experience.”

The Cohiba Serie M line debuted in 2021:

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
