Cayman Cigar Co. has a new cigar named after the type of Portuguese ships that brought Europeans to the New World.

It’s called The Caravel, now on sale in a single 5 1/4 x 50 robusto size. For this blend, the company has turned to TABACALERA LA iSLA in the Dominican Republic to produce the cigar, which uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over a Dominican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.

The Caravel has an MSRP of $12 and is offered in boxes of 10 cigars.

“I’m thrilled to join forces with Tabacalera la Isla,” said Scott Haugh, director of Cayman Cigar Co., in a press release. “This collaboration goes beyond cigars; it’s a fusion of traditions, expertise, and our shared commitment to delivering the finest to aficionados.”

Cayman Cigar Co.’s previous lines are rolled in Grand Cayman. The company has expanded its distribution to include more than 20 stores, both in the Cayman Islands and the U.S.

The company was launched by Granger Haugh and John Lemuel “Lem” Hurlston. It says that it donates all of its profits to various charities, including those that support entrepreneurship opportunities for marginalized populations, assistance to American veterans and addiction recovery.
