Cavalier Genève will be launching a new U.S.-based distribution company and as such taking over its own American distribution.

The new company, Cavalier Premium Cigars USA LLC, is in the process of being established. It will be based in Dallas, Texas, the same place as its current distributor, Cigar Art Brands.

Marco Cavazos of Cigar Art will serve as director of operations as the transition.

“This will be a positive move for Cavalier Genève,” said Cavazos in a press release. “the most notable change will be the ability to stock significant inventory in the U.S. warehouse. This should alleviate the U.S. backorder issues.”

Sébastien Decoppet, owner of Cavalier, will be moving from Switzerland to Dallas to oversee the operation.

“I am looking forward to spending more time with our U.S. accounts and consumers,” said Decoppet, “this is a really exciting time for my company.”

While the entities are changing, the relationship between Cavalier and Cigar Art will continue. Once established, Cavalier Premium Cigars USA will become the distributor for the Cigar Art’s brands of La Bella Otero and Singer & Monk.

Due to the transition, Cavalier Genève will not be at this week’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show.
