The follow-up version of the Casa Miranda Chapter One will debut two years later and in the exact same place as the original: Las Vegas, Nev. Miami Cigar & Co. will show off the Casa Miranda Chapter Two at the 2013 IPCPR trade show and convention in mid-July. The Nicaraguan-made cigar is described as both a follow-up, but also a completely different cigar.
“It’s a little stronger,” said Jason Wood, vp of Miami Cigar & Co.
Four sizes will debut, Robusto (4 1/2 x 50), Toro (5 1/2 x 54), Gran Toro (6 x 60) and Corona Gorda (6 x 47), with prices ranging from $6.50 to $8.00 per cigar. It features a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper over filler tobaccos from Brazil, the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
Casa Miranda Chapter Two will be made in Nicaragua at the García family’s My Father Cigars S.A. By producing the cigar in Nicaragua, the company was able to lower the price point significantly compared to the American-made Chapter One.
“The price point was always the problem,” said Wood. “It is made in the U.S., a $10.00 Robusto is hard for (consumers).”
Wood told halfwheel the company is still making the Chapter One at El Titan de Bronze.
Coincidentally, this announcement itself comes exactly two years from the date of when we first shared details on the original release.
