Boutique Blends is the latest cigar company to create an exclusive size for distributor Alliance Cigar, as the Aging Room Quattro F55 DeSocio will be shown at the upcoming IPCPR Convention & Trade Show and is expected to begin arriving at retailers by the end of July.
The new cigar is a 5 3/4 x 47 preferido box press, a shape first introduced by Boutique Blends in its Aging Room Ffortissimo series and now part of the DeSocio line, with the blend of the Quattro F55. It becomes the latest in a growing list of cigars to bear the DeSocio name, including the Oliva Serie V Melanio DeSocio, Alec Bradley Prensado DeSocio and the Flor de las Antillas DeSocio from My Father Cigars.
The DeSocio name comes from the maternal grandfather of Tom Sullivan, president of Alliance Cigar, and is used to pay tribute to him. Alliance Cigar is based in New York and distributes nationally.
“We are honored to add the Aging Room Quattro to our DeSocio collection. Rafael Nodal and I have been friends and working partners for many years. This was a great opportunity for us to collectively create something unique and at the same time have some fun together,” said Sullivan via a press release.
Sullivan told halfwheel that the cigar will be a regular production release with an MSRP of $8.75 and coming in 20-count boxes. He added that the first batch is currently in transit to Alliance Cigar’s warehouse.
The Quattro F55 blend uses an Indonesian Sumatra wrapper with a Dominican habano binder and filler, and is also available in six regular production sizes: Concerto (7 x 50), Vibrato (6 x 54), Maestro (6 x 52, Torpedo), Espressivo (5 x 50), Concerto S (6 x 50) and Stretto (4 1/2 x 46).
Update: Shortly after this story was published, Alliance Cigars released pricing and production information.
