After working with AJ Fernandez on its Signature Edition release, Bocock Brothers Premium Cigars has announced that it has enlisted Tabacalera AJ Fernandez to “reimagine” its World Traveler Maduro line.

This new version of the World Traveler Maduro uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, an Ecuadorian habano binder, and fillers from Nicaragua. It’s a significantly different blend than the original World Traveler Maduro blend, which debuted in 2019; that cigar used a Nicaraguan wrapper, Honduran-grown Connecticut-seed binder, and fillers from Nicaragua, with production handled by the San Judas Tadeo factory in Honduras.

“We knew it wouldn’t be easy,” said brothers Bryant and Doug Bocock in a press release when talking about moving the line to a new factory. “But we also know we are in good hands in our ongoing pursuit of excellence,” with the pair going on to call Abdel Fernandez a mentor to them.

It is being offered in three sizes:

  • Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Robusto (5 x 50)
  • Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Toro (6 x 52)
  • Bocock Brothers World Traveler Maduro Gordo (6 x 60)

Pricing is set between $11.50 and $12 per cigar, with each size offered in 20-count boxes. The updated version of the World Traveler Maduro is now available for retailers to order.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
