Black Label Trading Co. has announced a new limited edition cigar that it expects to have on store shelves in November, a dual-vitola release the company is calling Deliverance.

The new cigar is being release in just two sizes, a 5 1/2 x 48 corona and a 7 x 38 lancero, both of which feature a “quadruple wrapped pointed cap” and are being limited to 500 boxes of cigars; 12 cigars per box for the lancero and 16 per box for the corona. Pricing is set at $12 per cigar and will be available to all BLTC retailers, who can begin placing their orders on Monday.

Deliverance uses a natural Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Nicaraguan habano binder as well as Nicaraguan fillers to produce a cigar the company is billing as being medium to full bodied. It is being made at Tabaclaerie Santiago de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.

James Brown, the founder of Black Label Trading Co., said in a press release that the cigar is “raw, gritty and elegant all at the same time,” adding that the cigar starts with bold notes of earth, leather and cedar before bringing in notes of cinnamon and cloves and finishing with a salty sweetness.

It’s the second new line for the company this year, as in March the company announced the Morphine line, the lancero vitola of which was reviewed on halfwheel in May. They also added several sizes to existing lines at the 2014 IPCPR Convention and Trade Show in July.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
