ATL Cigar Co.’s Wise Blood Heads to Stores
ATL Cigar Co. has shipped its newest cigar line, Wise Blood, to retailers across the country.
Wise Blood gets its name from a book of the same name that was the first novel by Flannery O’Connor, a Georgia native. The company describes it as the story of a Southern veteran in the mid-20th century who struggles to reconcile his convictions and deep faith with his lived experience. Wise Blood was also turned into a film that was released in 1979.
“Flannery O’Connor and her Southern Gothic portfolio have had a profound influence on me,” said Leroy Lamar, president of ATL Cigar Co., via a press release. “Wise Blood, in particular, helps me wrestle with faith, race, my relationships with my co-founders, and frankly, my place in this world. We are proud to create a cigar that reflects these deep questions and commemorates such an important work and author.”
The Wise Blood line features an Ecuadorian habano rosado HVA wrapper atop an Ecuadorian Connecticut binder and fillers from three undisclosed regions of Nicaragua. ATL Cigar Co. calls it a mild-to-medium-bodied profile, and is offering it in four vitolas, each of which will be offered in bundles and boxes of 20 cigars:
- ATL Cigar Co. Wise Blood Lonsdale (6 1/2 x 42) — $9.99
- ATL Cigar Co. Wise Blood Robusto (5 1/4 x 54) — $10.49
- ATL Cigar Co. Wise Blood Robusto Extra (6 x 50) — $10.99
- ATL Cigar Co. Wise Blood Gordito (4 x 60) — $11.99
The cigars are being produced by Luciano Cigars at its factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
“Our partnership with ATL Cigar Co. continues from strength to strength, harnessing both companies’ commitment to community and to finding one’s purpose,” said Luciano Meirelles, founder of Luciano Cigars, in a press release. “We dedicate the Wise Blood blend to every aficionado who uses the cigar to contemplate deeper questions and to investigate the nuances that emerge in intimate conversation.”
Luciano Cigars also distributes ATL Cigar Co.’s portfolio.
