La Casa del Tabaco is the new distributor of Arturo Fuente products in Spain.

“We are thrilled to finally work with the Zapata family” said Jeremiah Meerapfel, president of Arturo Fuente International, in a press release. “Ramon (Zapata) has been friends with Carlito Fuente and I for many years and share common values with our families including hard work, determination and above all, a passion and respect for the finest premium cigars.”

La Casa del Tabaco says that it is creating a separate sales team within its company to handle just the Arturo Fuente products.

“It is important the brand is handled separately,” said Aitor Zapata, marketing director for La Casa del Tabaco. “Arturo Fuente is the crown jewel of the premium cigar industry; we must insure (sic) it has our full attention and that of our retail partners.”

The companies say that a limited selection of the Arturo Fuente portfolio will be offered in the company beginning next month and a “more complete offering” will arrive in October.

La Casa del Tabaco—which is separate from a Belgian retailer by the same name—also distributes E.P. Carrillo, My Father, Oliva, Perdomo, Tatuaje and others in Spain.
