For many, Te-Amo was the first Mexican cigar they smoked. While the brand has remained active for decades, it has remained somewhat stagnant despite the rising popularity of Mexican San Andrés wrappers. This year, Te-Amo will receive more emphasis in the U.S. this year.

Altadis U.S.A., which distributes Te-Amo in the U.S., is launching Te Amo, the Original San Andrés Valley Cigar. Yes, it’s all part of the name, though Te-Amo does not appear to have a dash. Blend-wise, it is a Mexican puro using tobacco from the famed San Andrés Valley. The Turrent family owns the Te-Amo brand and makes the cigars in Mexico.

There will be three sizes available on launch:

  • Te Amo, the Original San Andrés Valley Cigar Robusto (5 x 54) — $10.39 (Box of 20, $207.80)
  • Te Amo, the Original San Andrés Valley Cigar Toro (6 x 52) — $11.22 (Box of 20, $224.40)
  • Te Amo, the Original San Andrés Valley Cigar Magnum (6 x 60) — $12.71 (Box of 20, $254.20)

It will debut at next week’s TPE 2024 trade show in Las Vegas and is ready to begin shipping to stores on Feb. 1.

In addition to the new line, Altadis U.S.A. says that Alejandro Turrent will be part of an event series in the spring.
