Alan Rubin, the founder of Alec Bradley, has announced that he has acquired the Lars Tetens brands and that Alec Bradley will now distribute them.

In the 1990s, Lars Tetens, the brand, was a leader in the premium flavored cigar category, which was still in its infancy. As time went on, other brands took off and Lars Tetens faded further out of national visibility. Tetens has continued to sell his cigars from his own storefront and in some stores, largely in the upstate New York and Pennsylvania areas.

Now, Alec Bradley plans to bring the brand back to humidors. It will likely start with bringing brands that are grandfathered via FDA regulations, i.e. any cigars that were marketed prior to Feb. 15, 2007.

“I’ve had multiple companies approach me to take my brand on, but I had this connection with Alan,” said Tetens in a press release. “Out of all of the people that came to me, Alan was the only one that saw my vision and got me. He was the only one that would allow me to be me. I can express myself and my creativity with Alan. With the new partnership, I am a part of the Alec Bradley family and their wide distribution network. I am unbelievably excited to get going! I couldn’t have done this without Alan!”

In addition to cigars, Lars Tetens has sold a variety of products including spices, leather goods, CBD-based products, fragrances and music under his name.
