At next month’s 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, AJ Fernandez will add a new size to its New World Dorado line.

It’s called the New World Dorado Corona, a 5 5/8 x 46 corona gorda. The Dorado blend is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco, most of which comes from AJ Fernandez’s Dorado farm in Estelí, and is capped off with a habano sun grown wrapper. The line, which debuted last year, is produced at the company’s San Lotano Factory in Ocotal.

The MSRP is set at $10 per cigar, and it will come in boxes of 10 when it begins shipping this August.

With the addition of the Dorado Corona, there will be five regular production sizes for the line. For those interested in purchasing one of each, the company has created the New World Dorado The Gold Standard sampler, which will contain one of each of the vitolas:

  • New World Dorado Robusto (5 1/2 x 52)
  • New World Dorado Gordito (5 1/2 x 60)
  • New World Dorado Figurado (6 x 56)
  • New World Dorado Toro (6 x 54)
  • New World Dorado Corona (5 5/8 x 46)

It is priced at $50 and will begin shipping immediately following the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place July 8-11 in Las Vegas.

For those curious about the name of the sampler, Dorado is Spanish for golden.
