ADV & McKay Cigars Co. is creating a mashup of two of its core lines as a limited edition, exclusive release for Harrisburg Beer N Cigar, one of the company’s elite accounts.

The unnamed project uses the ADVentura The Royal Return King’s Gold and ADVentura The Royal Return Queen’s Pearls blends, taking the wrappers from each line to create a barber pole design, while preserving each line’s binder and filler.

The King’s Gold line, which wears the gold band, has a dark Connecticut broadleaf wrapper,  a Mexican San Andrés binder and a filler that uses tobacco from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the United States. The Queen’s Pearls line, which wears the white band, uses lighter-colored Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed tobacco for its wrapper and binder, while the filler comes from the Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Nicaragua.

Both barber poles are offered in a 6 x 54 toro size that comes with an MSRP of $18. The cigars are offered in 10-count boxes, with each box containing five of each of the two cigars. Only 100 boxes have been produced for the release, with the cigars made at Tabacalera Mina del Rey in the Dominican Republic.

The cigars should be released by December, though a formal release date is yet to be set due to a delay in the packaging. When they are released, they will first go to members of the store’s cigar of the month club. They will then be offered to the public via BLLuxuries.com, the store’s online storefront, and finally, for in-store purchases. Harrisburg Beer N Cigar is located in Harrisburg, Pa.

Nicole Knobel, director of operations for ADV & McKay Cigars Co., said that these cigars will not be made again for at least two years to reserve the materials needed to produce the regular production versions of the King’s Gold and Queen’s Pearls lines.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
