The next stop in Davidoff’s U.S. retail expansion is heading south.
Today, Oettinger Davidoff AG will announce that it will be adding a flagship “Davidoff of Geneva – since 1911″ store in Houston, Texas later this year. It will be located inside the remodeled River Oaks District, a project of OliverMcMillan, the San Diego-based real estate firm that is responsible for the complex where Davidoff’s new Atlanta store is headed.
“We are delighted to open up a new ”Davidoff of Geneva – since 1911” flagship store in River Oaks alongside an outstanding array of luxury retail stores and premium restaurants,” said Jim Young, president of Davidoff of Geneva North America, in a press release.
“This new 2,000 square foot store will feature an expansive walk-in humidor with a wide selection of premium cigars and Davidoff as the centerpiece. An inviting retail space will display a selection of the finest accessories and a relaxing lounge will welcome guests to fill their time beautifully. The interior and architectural design is inspired by the traditions of the Dominican Republic, the home of Davidoff and where many of our employees are based.”
The company is targeting a “late 2015” launch for the store.
Houston will be at least the fourth new Davidoff of Geneva store to be opened in the U.S. in a little more than a year. The expansion started relatively quietly when Davidoff began renovating De La Concha, a New York City store it has owned since 2006. It reopened in late 2014 as Davidoff of Geneva 6th Avenue.
In addition to the new Atlanta and Houston stores, Davidoff announced that it would be adding another New York Flagship at Brookfield Place, located in Lower Manhattan near One World Trade Center.
