Davidoff’s Discovery Series, the four lines that carry a silver on black Davidoff band, will be getting big additions later this month.
Each will receive a 6 x 60 gordo vitola as part of a limited edition release.
- Davidoff Escurio 6 x 60 — $19.20 (Boxes of 12, $230.40)
- Davidoff Nicaragua 6 x 60 — $19.20 (Boxes of 12, $230.40)
- Davidoff Nicaragua Box Pressed 6 x 60 — $18.90 (Boxes of 12, $226.80)
- Davidoff Yamasá 6 x 60 — $23.90 (Boxes of 12, $286.80)
Only 2,250 boxes of 12 cigars will be released for each blend and the company expects to begin shipping the cigars to appointed merchants nationally on April 26.
Davidoff Nicaragua was the first in the series. It uses a Nicaraguan habano rosado wrapper, a binder from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua and fillers from Condega and Estelí, Nicaragua. Nicaragua Box Pressed is not only box-pressed, but also uses a different wrapper, a Nicaraguan habano oscuro leaf.
Escurio was the company’s tribute to Brazil. It uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, a Cuban-seed Brazilian binder and Brazilian mata fina, Cuban-seed Brazilian and Dominican fillers.
Davidoff Yamasá is the most recent release of the bunch, introduced last year. It uses a Dominican Yamasá wrapper and binder as well as a mixture of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.
This would appear to be only the second time Davidoff has used the 6 x 60 format for a wide release product. In 2013, it released the Davidoff Limited Edition 2014 Year of the Horse, which also came in the gordo format.
