The XIKAR brand is adding a new dual-jet torch lighter called the Ion that will debut at this week’s 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show ahead of its scheduled release in October.

The Ion is notable for offering a large, push-button ignition, a style not commonly used on lighters. Beyond that, a flame adjustment wheel is on the base of the lighter, while Quality Importers Trading Co., parent of the XIKAR brand, says the fuel tank is large enough that the Ion can light 80 cigars before needing to be refilled.

“The XIKAR® Ion was designed from the ground up, to be a robust and powerful lighter, that will satisfy the needs of every cigar smoker,” said Jimmy Miudo, executive vp of product design, sourcing and business intelligence for Quality Importers, via a press release. “Featuring an elegant design, the XIKAR® Ion provides a beautiful presentation, while not breaking the bank.”

The XIKAR Ion is priced at $69.99 and offered in five colors: red, blue, silver, black, and a black and rose gold combination. As with all XIKAR products, it is backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
