Jeremy McDonald and Robert Caldwell are back at it again.
Before launching his Wildfire Cigar Co. two years ago, McDonald served as the national sales director for Caldwell Cigar Co. Over the summer, the two companies collaborated for a cigar, Ammunition, which is now arriving at stores.
Ammunition is one of a number of cigars that were PCA 2023 exclusives, cigars that could only be ordered by retailers who placed orders in-person during the mid-summer trade show. However, retailers didn’t need to go to the Wildfire Cigar Co. booth. Instead, they needed to attend a Louders The Roar concert that took place on July 8 at The Square Bar.
Louders The Roar is McDonald’s band. The Ammunition cigar was developed to pair with Ammunition Whiskey from Daylight Wine & Spirits of Santa Rosa, Calif.
As for the cigar, it’s a 6 x 52 toro that uses a Dominican corojo wrapper over binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It was made at Manufactura Rivas in the Dominican Republic, a factory that has been increasingly used by Caldwell for its own cigars.
The MSRP is set at $15 per cigar and production was limited to 300 boxes of 10 cigars. Around 15 stores are carrying the Ammunition cigar.
“I’m excited because this collaboration isn’t one-sided,” said McDonald in a press release. “Ammunition Whiskey will be introducing their consumer base to Wildfire Cigars by distributing our brand during their vendor opportunities as an onsite pairing and we get to introduce something new in a fun and interactive way. Who doesn’t love live music, libation, and cigars? It’s the perfect Ménage a Trois to stimulate your senses.”
