Earlier this year, Warped Cigars hinted that its La Colmena Black Honey cigar would be released in 2023, the first time the cigar will be offered to stores since 2017. Now, we know more details.

The cigar remains a 5 x 48 belicoso that uses an Ecuadorian habano oscuro wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Blend-wise, it’s a hybrid of Warped’s La Colmena and El Oso lines. Like those two blends, Black Honey is made at El Titan de Bronze in Miami.

According to a report from Cigar Aficionado, Black Honey will return to stores this fall with an MSRP of $22 per cigar. Beyond the increase in price, one other change is that it appears the 2023 release will come in boxes of 10 cigars. The two previous releases have been sold in bundles.

Kyle Gellis, Warped’s founder, confirmed Cigar Aficionado’s report and said a press release would be issued to other media outlets on Thursday.

Black Honey debuted in 2015 and was sold at just 13 stores. In 2017, Warped released the cigar again, that time offered to 67 retailers. The report says that after the 2023 release, Warped won’t ship Black Honey again for at least six more years.

The original release finished #12 on halfwheel’s Top 25 cigars of 2015.
