R. Field Wine Co. in Hawaii will be getting a new store exclusive from Warped this fall, as Kyle Gellis has announced that the RF-X50 will land on the island in October as part of an event he will be attending.

Gellis calls the RF-X50 “the strongest Corto to date,” though he declined to describe what changes went into the cigar to achieve that description. It remains a Nicaraguan puro, however, using all AGANORSA tobacco, and comes in a box-pressed 4 1/2 x 50 vitola, the same as the X50, which is no longer regularly available.

A total of 200 boxes of 25 cigars are being made for the event, with an estimated MSRP of $10 per cigar and $250 for a box of 25 cigars, though that is before Hawaii’s tobacco tax is added. Factoring that it would put the single stick price at $15 and boxes at $375 per halfwheel estimates.

The RF-X50 will debut Oct. 26 at an event at the Prince Waikiki Hotel with Gellis in attendance.

Corto debuted in October 2015.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
