At last year’s IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, Viva Republica showed off a few new products, a few prototypes and talked about a variety of ideas. One of them was the Viva Republica Edición Limitada Culebra. Viva Republica’s Jason Holly told halfwheel that the Edición Limitada Culebra would be limited to 1,000 units, priced affordably and would ship in September.
The lattermost claim didn’t come true, but now the cigar is ready to be released.
The official launch will be this Saturday at Tobaccology in Manassas, Va. as part of the DC Cigar Tweetup 2014. It measures 5 3/4 x 39. Like all culebras, it is made up of three different cigars that are twisted together. In this particular case, there are actually three different blends. One is the Rapture, the other Rapture Maduro and the final piece a Guerrilla Warfare.
“I’ve always been intrigued by and have enjoyed culebras and wanted to use creating one as an opportunity to feature three of our core lines,” said Holly in a press release.
The suggested retail price of the Viva Republica Edición Limitada Culebra is $18, which works out to $6 per cigar. It will ship to retailers in five-packs for a total of 15 cigars.
As with the rest of the Viva Republica line, the cigar is made at La Aurora’s E. León Jimenes Tabacalera factory in the Dominican Republic and is distributed in the U.S. by Miami Cigar & Co.
The D.C. Cigar Tweetup takes places March 13-14 in the Washington D.C. area. RoMa Craft Tobac has already announced two products that will debut at the event: the CroMagnon Fomorian and the El Catador de Los Gran Robustos sampler.
