A new, seemingly very limited line from Viaje has arrived at a small handful of retailers, as the company has quietly released the Viaje Skull & Bones Tsar Bomba.

The line is made up of three blends, known as Camo Red, Camo Blue, and Camo Grey, which correspond to the background color and design of the bands. All three versions are offered in a single 6 x 56 toro gordo vitola, and all three are packed in 25-count boxes. Based on retailers’ listings, pricing appears to be set at $406 per box, which works out to $16.24 per cigar, though the three retailers who have listed the cigars each have them at different prices, with one attributable to California’s tobacco tax structure.

A representative from Viaje declined to provide any information about the Tsar Bomba line when asked, including confirming a listing by one retailer that the cigars are made at the Aganorsa factory using all AGANORSA Leaf tobacco.

The company has also not put out any information about the cigars on social media, which it does for most of its releases.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
