Viaje has announced that its Exclusivo and Exclusivo Leaded lines will be returning to store shelves later this month, and one of the two sizes will be the sought-after Double Edged Sword, a 5 x 52 perfecto.

Both blends are Nicaraguan puros, though the Exclusivo Leaded uses medio tiempo in its blend, which results in a stronger, fuller flavor, according to the company. The cigars are produced by Raíces Cubanas in Danlí, Honduras.

The two blends will also be released in a 6 x 5o toro. All of the cigars have received an extra six months of aging in their boxes prior to the release, the company wrote in social media posts. Pricing and production numbers have not yet been disclosed, with a company representative declining to provide them to halfwheel. Previous releases have come in boxes of 25 cigars.

The cigars are set to begin shipping on Monday, July 24.

The Viaje Exclusivo line debuted in 2009, while the Exclusivo Leaded debuted in 2014.

Update (July 25, 2023) — halfwheel has learned that pricing is as follows:

  • Viaje Exclusivo Toro — $8.96 (Box of 25, $224)
  • Viaje Exclusivo Double Edged Sword — $10.40 (Box of 25, $260)
  • Viaje Exclusivo Leaded Toro — $9.52 — (Box of 25, $238)
  • Viaje Exclusivo Leaded Double Edged Sword — $10.96 (Box of 25, $274)

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
