Viaje’s Birthday Blend and Zombie Super Shot are back for 2019.

For Zombie Super Shot, the details are the same as the last few releases: a 3 1/2 x 54 parejo size that uses a Nicaraguan criollo 98 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers. It is priced at $7.60 per cigar and sold in boxes of 25.

Viaje’s Birthday Blend is also back for the fourth time and is finally, officially no longer a White Label Project (WLP) release. The cigar debuted in 2016 under the WLP distinction with Viaje saying the packaging had to be rushed due to the impending FDA regulations. The company’s social media said that is “the latest graduate from the Viaje WLP program” and now has “a permanent spot in the Viaje portfolio.”

As for the cigar, it’s a 6 x 52 torpedo that uses a Nicaraguan criollo 98 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. It is priced at $9, sold in boxes of 38 and made at Tabacos Valle de Jalapa S.A. (TABSA).

Originally, the plan was to increase the box count to coincide with Viaje founder Andre Farkas’ birthday. Unfortunately, FDA regulations explicitly regulate product quantities, so each release has remained 38.

A spokesperson for Viaje declined to comment on production numbers for each release.
