United Cigars is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the La Gianna Havana brand with a new limited edition release.

The appropriately named La Gianna Havana 30th Anniversary is being released in a singular 6 x 54 vitola that uses two wrapper leaves to create its barber pole design: an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed leaf and a Mexican San Andrés leaf. Underneath those wrappers, the cigar features a habano criollo binder from Honduras and filler tobaccos grown in the Dominican Republic, Honduras and the U.S.

Each cigar will have an MSRP of $12 and they will be packaged in 20-count boxes, but United Cigars declined to provide information on the exact number of boxes that are being released. The La Gianna Havana 30th Anniversary cigars are rolled at the Diadema Cigars de Honduras S.A. in Honduras.

“Thirty years of excellence, thirty years of passion, and thirty years of indulgence. That’s what the La Gianna Havana line represents,” said Oliver Nivaud, director of operations for United Cigars, in a press release. “With each puff, you’ll embark on a journey, experiencing the palette of our dedication, passion and time.”

Originally released in 1994, the La Gianna Havana brand was created to commemorate the birth of David Garofalo’s daughter. Garofalo is the founder and owner of Two Guys Smoke Shop, a chain of retail stores located in New Hampshire.

According to a press release, the La Gianna Havana 30th Anniversary is scheduled to begin shipping to retailers during the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show taking place March 22-25 in Las Vegas.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
