A new line from United Cigars was created to honor the United States Navy SEALs and their families.

The Gold Star Limited Edition will be released in a singular 6 x 54 toro extra vitola, with an MSRP of $20 each. Each box will contain 20 cigars and there will be a total of 400 boxes released. Blend-wise, the Gold Star Limited Edition is made with an Ecuadorian habano 2000 intermedio wrapper covering a Indonesian Sumatra binder along with Connecticut broadleaf and tobacco grown in the Dominican Republic in the filler.

In addition, 25 of the 400 boxes will include the signatures of active and retired Navy SEALs, and those boxes will be donated to an auction to raise money for the Navy Seal Museum Trident House Charities and Swim With A Mission (SWAM).

“We are thrilled to introduce the Gold Star limited edition, a product of passion and purpose,” said Oliver Nivaud, director of operations for United Cigars, in a press release. “This project symbolizes our commitment to crafting exceptional cigars while supporting organizations that make a significant impact on the lives of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.”

According to United Cigars, the Gold Star Limited Edition will debut during the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, which takes place March 23-25 in Las Vegas, and boxes are scheduled to ship to retailers in March.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
