The United Natural Toro will be offered in a special packaging option in honor of Veterans Day, which takes place Nov. 11.

The cigar itself is the same as the regular production United Natural Toro, meaning it uses an Ecuadorian habano binder over a Dominican binder and Dominican fillers, including both broadleaf and olor tobaccos. As part of the Veterans Day tie-in, the boxes will actually contain 22 cigars, 20 of which will be the normal cigar, while two additional cigars will carry special yellow foot bands. United says those two cigars are complimentary and designed to be given to a veteran.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $8.50, the same as the regular United Cigars Natural Toro. United lists the box MSRP as $153, which would be the price of 20 cigars with a 10 percent discount, a practice many retailers do to encourage box purchases.

Earlier this year, United updated the United Natural and United Maduro lines, tweaking the blend and changing the cigars from box-pressed to round. The lines are made at Tabacalera Magia Cubana in the Dominican Republic.

“Our Special Edition United Toro cigars are a symbol of our deep appreciation for the brave men and women who have served our country,” said Oliver Nivaud, director of operations for United, in a press release. “We believe that honoring our veterans is not just a one-time act, but a continuous commitment. With this special release, we hope to share our gratitude with those who have made tremendous sacrifices for our freedom.”

In addition to the two special cigars, every box of United includes a star from a weather American flag. These stars are cut by veterans through a partnership with Stars For Our Troops, a charity.

United says that only a limited number of boxes have been created, though declined to say how many.
