A pair of new cigars bearing the iconic Lamborghini bull logo are bound for the United States as well as the global market, as Lamborghini Latinoamerica USA has announced a manufacturing and distribution deal with Florida-based cigar distributor Lord of Cigars.
Formally known as the 1963 Lamborghini 350 GTV Maduro, the first new release is a sizable 7 x 56 torpedo that uses a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper that has been aged for five years along with a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The cigar bears the name of the iconic 350 GTV automobile that was unveiled at Turin Auto Show 1963, the very first automobile Ferrucio Lamborghini created for the automotive side of his company after his infamous fight with Enzo Ferrari.
“The cigar duly represents the classic aura of the historic automobiles image with its medium-full bodied spice, superior smoke output & a unique complex but smooth blend that covers various parts of the Latin American regions,” according to Anthony Crudup, Lamborghini Latinoamerica’s ceo.
The Lamborghini MCMXCIV Habano is also a 7 x 56 torpedo vitola that uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. It was designed in celebration of the launch Lamborghini Latinoamerica in 1994 by Jorge Antonio Fernandez Garcia, the company’s current present.
“The Lamborghini MCMXCIV speaks of the best Cuban-seed long fillers accompanied by a premium Ecuadorian dark habano wrapper that guarantees a subtle and distinct medium-bodied spice,” Fernandez Garcia noted. “Our finest cigars are manufactured by the best only for those who swear by true luxury products, be it a classic Lamborghini auto or a boutique cigar.”
Both cigars come in 20-count boxes priced at $420, or $21 per cigar before taxes, and are made at an undisclosed factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Lamborghini Latinoamerica is planning on producing 100,000 of each of the two new cigars per year. Both cigars are also being offered in a limited edition gift set, with 500 specially designed boxes that feature a lacquer piano finish and logo-embossed leather. The company is targeting that packaging as a holiday release, which will sell for $550 for a box of 20 cigars.
“We are excited to attain the distribution, selling rights of exclusive and first line of the great Lamborghini Cigars,” said Yunior Lopez, president of Lord of Cigars. “The iconic brand would lead to a new niche following, bonding a much desired connection between world of high end super cars & cigars.”
Lamborghini Latinoamerica USA is an official licensee and representative of Lamborghini, S.p.A. and also produces branded tequila, wine and clothing. Lord of Cigars was established in 2013 by Lester Alvarez and currently represents the Horacio, Don Lopez, Antigua Esteli, and Rogelio lines.
