When I first smoked the Liga Privada No. 9 Corona ¡Viva! I thought it was terrible. A few weeks later I began my review of the cigar and found a completely different experience. As it turns out, the cigars—which I smoked as part of a soft launch—just needed some time.
Once that time period elapsed, one of the better Liga Privadas of recent memory emerged. While it may not get as much attention as the Liga Privada 10 Aniversario or H99, the No. 9 Corona ¡Viva! reminded me of a different take on some of the Liga Privadas of yesteryear.
That being said, this isn't as robust as the early days of Liga, but it's a good reminder that over a decade later, Liga Privada can still be one of the best cigars on the market. — Charlie Minato.
