First it was the Last Tsar, now it’s the daughter of the Last Tsar.
Princess Anastasia was the daughter of Nicolas II and Caldwell’s Anastasia cigar is meant as a follow-up to his previously-released Last Tsar. While there are no details on what tobaccos make up the blend, the consensus amongst our staff is that they are “good.”
Anastasia provided a plethora of dark chocolates alongside nuttiness, fruits, tea and leather; creating one of the more complex cigars from Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. of recent memory. It’s certainly not as strong as The Last Tsar, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t as flavorful. Like the Last Tsar, it’s limited in distribution with just 35 stores receiving the cigar. — Charlie Minato.
