Earlier this week, Pete Johnson teased a new cigar called the MBS that he said will be arriving ahead of the July 4 holiday, and it appears it might be an addition to the company’s Monster Series.

Little is known about the cigars, other than that they will come in 10-count packs and appear to be related to the company’s Monster Series, as Johnson added the #monster hashtag to the Instagram post.

The cigars appear to wear a green and red band similar to that of 2016’s The Krueger, the ninth release in Tatuaje’s Monster Series. The sticker on the front of the pack bears the letters FK, which could be an indication as to its roots as well, since they are the same as that of Freddy Krueger of the A Nightmare on Elm Street movie franchise that inspired The Krueger. Additionally, the cigars appear to have a belicoso-style head, which would be another trait shared with The Krueger.

Johnson declined to discuss the project when asked.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
