A pair of related, but different Tatuaje cigars will begin shipping to select retailers next week. Each cigar was made as exclusivse to retailers that attended different trade shows last year.

Interestingly, while the trade shows are unrelated, the cigars are somewhat related. Both cigars are 5 3/8 x 52, both are made at My Father Cigars S.A., each has an MSRP of $14.50 per cigar, and each release is limited to 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars. Additionally, both cigars were only offered to retailers who placed orders during the events which the cigars were named after.

What separates the cigars themselves are the blends. The Tatuaje TAA 2022 uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, while the PCA 2022 uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper. Each cigar uses a Nicaraguan double binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

In November, Pete Johnson, Tatuaje’s founder, told halfwheel that the cigars had been resting in boxes for months, though he decided to delay them “only because we had too many limited products releasing at the same time. We thought it was best to spread them out.”

Tatuaje is donating 50 cents per cigar to each of the organizations. That means $10,000 each to the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) and Tobacconists’ Association of America, Ltd. (TAA).

While this release will be the first Tatuaje PCA exclusive, this is the 11th time Tatuaje has released a TAA exclusive.
