Named after a character in Greek mythology, the regular production blend incorporates both Pennsylvania broadleaf and Tennessee fire-cured tobacco. The line debuted during the 2024 Total Product Expo earlier this year.

JRE Tobacco Co. says the binder and fillers come from the company’s farms in Honduras, though there’s no information on where the wrapper was grown.

It’s the fourth release in the only American-made Cohiba line.

This cigar marked the second consecutive year that Tatuaje produced a cigar as an exclusive for the PCA Convention & Trade Show. As part of the release, Tatuaje donated $25,000 to the Premium Cigar Association.

The cigar line was co-blended by Linxu “Panda” Yan and Luciano Meirelles, founder of Luciano Cigars.

In 2023, J.C. Newman released 40 humidors that used wood that was once the Staples Center floor used for the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. Inside of those humidors was an exclusive size of The American, fittingly called the All-Star.

This blend is one of three different lines created to commemorate company founders Nick and Janine Perdomo’s three decades in the cigar industry.

The name of the cigar translates means “new blood” in Spanish.
