As with OZ Family Cigars’ first two core lines, the company’s third regular production line draws inspiration from Tim Ozgener’s Turkish roots. It’s a cigar made in the Dominican Republic, though there’s no Dominican tobacco used.

The new line from Viaje took eight years to develop and involved a more rigorous tobacco selection process than the company’s other creations.

In September 2022, Skip Martin turned 50. In October 2023, the cigar celebrating that milestone birthday was reviewed. In November 2024, it gets a redux.

The cigar is named for the punk rock band fronted by Wendy O. Williams. For brand co-owner Cynn Coburn, it was the chance to honor an icon of punk rock decadence & attitude, who she said live the life of a Dissident.

Last year, Zander-Greg/Epic Cigars teamed up with the actor Chazz Palminteri for a limited edition cigar called “A Bronx Tale.” Now, it’s back as a regular line with four vitolas.

In 2022, ADV & McKay Cigars Co. released Barbarroja’s Invasion, not only a new chapter in the ADVentura storyline, but with a talking cigar box. Two years later, the cigar gets a response and another talking cigar box makes its way to humidors.

The Room101ification of Los Statos Deluxe entered its fourth chapter earlier this year with the Los Statos Deluxe Connecticut. It’s made at Joya de Nicaragua with a fairly unique filler blend for a Connecticut shade cigar.

Sinistro’s highest-end offering made its third appearance at the end of 2023. It’s a blend built around a decade-old wrapper leaf that undergoes a unique fermentation process.

Illusione is once again embracing the idea of secrecy and mystery for its newest line, the Group of Five. As the band says, whispering tongues are treachery.

For the 11th release of Las Calaveras, Crowned Heads created a blend made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco. Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, says it reminds him of the 2015 release.

While the company has thus far declined to disclose many specifics on the blend of the 5 x 52 limited edition, Illusione has said that the cigar uses a type of tobacco that hasn’t recently been grown in Nicaragua. In addition, the company noted that the tobacco had been “Primed and bale aged” for three years.
