Arsenio Ramos was the definition of a “tobacco man,” having spent some 40 years working in Cuba’s tobacco industry before leaving the island to join Eduardo Fernández and the company that would become AGANORSA Leaf. While he passed away in 2018 at the age of 83, his name and his legend live on with a new cigar line released in the summer of 2024.

It took the Artesano del Tobacco team five years to develop the line, premiering it in 2023. A year later, the brand has given the line its fourth size, one quite a bit smaller than the first three in which it debuted.

Not only did Scandinavian Tobacco Group acquire the existing Alec Bradley brands, but seemingly the blend book of Alan Rubin, founder of Alec Bradley. That book became the source for the company’s newest cigar.

Released last year, the Connecticut Londres was part of a sampler that included 16 cigars, two each of the company’s eight different core-line blends. Carrying the name Micallef Collectors Edition, the sampler was made to commemorate the 80th birthday of company founder Al Micallef.

The new limited edition is made up of an Ecuadorian Connecticut desflorado wrapper covering an Ecuadorian habano binder and filler tobaccos grown in Nicaragua. In Japanese culture, paper cranes symbolize hope, love and healing.

Originally named El Güegüense—which means The Wise Man in Spanish—the name of this brand is now The Wise Man Corojo. Beyond the name change, The Wise Man brand is now being made at My Father Cigars S.A.

300 Hands pays tribute to the 150 pairs of hands that are required to take any single cigar from tobacco seeds to full cigar. It’s a great name.

The Charter Oak Pegnataro is the latest in a long line of cigars that pair an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers.

The corona vitola is one of two limited edition cigars released to celebrate Tatuaje’s 20th anniversary in business.

The line is one of the first created by José “Don Pepín” García, and as the company celebrates 20 years, the line gets a new look and an updated blend.
