Rob Zwarts, the executive vice-president of special projects for Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG), has announced his retirement.

Zwarts managed STG’s cigar business from 2002-2008 before becoming evp of operations until 2014. His bio says the he was responsible for implanting STG’s strategy to the revised European Tobacco Product Directive, TPD2.

His resignation is effective today, but he will serve as an “ad hoc advisor” for the company for one year.

The company also announced Hanne Berg has joined the company as chief HR officer and svp. Berg has spent the last decade with LEGO Group, most recently as its HR director and vice-president.

STG is the parent company of General Cigar Co., which sells the CAO and Macanudo brands globally as well as Cohiba, Hoyo de Monterrey, La Gloria Cubana and Partagas brands in the U.S. It is also the owner of Cigars International and its affiliated brands Cigar.com and Cigar Bid.
