STG Expands Club Macanudo With Louisiana Location

Last November, a Club Macanudo location opened in Bossier City, La.

It is part of the Margaritaville Resort Casino in Bossier City, which is located on the banks of the Red River, opposite Shreveport. Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG)—which owns General Cigar Co., Cigars International and others—opened the store in partnership with Margaritaville and Southern Smoke Cigar Co., which operates M.A.’s Cigars Bossier City and Havana Cigar Lounge in Shreveport.

Club Macanudo is best known for its original location in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, which offers cigars for sale but is primarily a cigar bar that offers food. A second Club Macanudo was opened in 2022 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

“The opening of Club Macanudo Bossier City marks a significant step in the expansion of our premium cigar lounge platform,” said Chris Tarr, vp of marketing for STG, in a press release. “With this strategic addition to the growing Club Macanudo collection, we have aligned our brand with the resort-casino occasion, delivering a new touchpoint for cigar smokers to indulge in their passion for handmade cigars. We will continue to explore opportunities to develop additional lounges that align with brands across our entire portfolio.”

STG also operates 10 Cigars International locations throughout the U.S., with two more in construction.
