There’s yet another addition to the Asylum Cigars and CLE Cigar Co. portfolios, Schizo Maduro.

As the name implies, it’s a maduro version of the company’s Schizo line, which was part of the launch for Asylum back in 2012. While it shares part of a name, the Schizo Maduro is pretty different than the original line. The new cigar is made Honduras at Christian Eiroa’s El Aladino factory, whereas the original was being made in Nicaragua. The Schizo Maduro uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over Honduran fillers compared to the original line, which is a Nicaraguan puro.

“People had been asking us to come out with a Schizo Maduro cigar, so we made it happen,” said Tom Lazuka, co-founder of Asylum Cigars.

The new line will come in five sizes: 5 x 50, 6 x 50, 6 x 60, 7 x 52 and 7 x 70. Pricing is set between $1.90-3.80 per cigar. Schizo Maduro is packaged in bundles of 20 and offered to retailers in trays of 100, which hold a bundle of each size.

In recent weeks, CLE Cigar Co. has announced two new sizes for the Asylum line, the release of the Asylum Nyctophilia for retailers who are members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America and updated package for the company’s CLE Signature line.
