At last week’s TPE 2022, S.T.Dupont showed off the latest addition to its Défi family of lighters: a soft flame.

The S.T.Dupont Défi Soft Flame is available in either a green color called Kaki or a black option, both with an MSRP of $260. As the name implies, it takes the Defi form factor—already offered in both single- and double-flame torch options, but replaces the flame mechanism with a coiled soft flame array. The company is marketing this for a few different use cases: a. because it’s a soft flame, people should be able to carry it onto planes; b. it gives people who prefer a soft flame an S.T.Dupont option that should work in windier situations like a golf course; c. it should also be an attractive option to the marijuana marketplace, a new focus for S.T.Dupont.

Coles of London, S.T.Dupont’s U.S. distributor, says the Défi Soft Flame lighters are available for order and are ready to ship now.
